Das Kapitel ist Teil des Sammelbands  <em>The Tropical Silk Road. The Future of China in South America. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Der Text wirft folgende Fragen auf: Wie tr\u00e4gt China zur Infrastrukturentwicklung in Brasilien bei? Werden bei chinesischen Investitionen niedrige Sozial- und Umweltstandards angewendet? Diese allgemeinen Fragen erfordern eingehende Untersuchungen. Die Studie leistet einen Beitrag zu diesem Vorhaben, indem sie einen detaillierten \u00dcberblick \u00fcber die bedeutendsten chinesischen Investitionen in die brasilianische Infrastruktur gibt. Sie pr\u00e4sentiert eine Fallstudie zu sozialen und \u00f6kologischen Ausgleichsma\u00dfnahmen im Zusammenhang mit der 5.000 Kilometer langen Strom\u00fcbertragungsleitung Xingu-Rio.
