Mai 2025 hielt Jana H\u00f6nke, Professorin und Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls f\u00fcr Soziologie in Afrika an der Universit\u00e4t Bayreuth, einen faszinierenden Vortrag auf der Grundlage des Sammelbands <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hurstpublishers.com\/book\/africas-global-infrastructures\/\">Africa\u2019s Global Infrastructures: South\u2013South Transformations in Practice.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Der Vortrag befasste sich mit chinesischen Projekten im Rahmen der Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Afrika. Es wurde die Frage gestellt, wie chinesische Unternehmen ihre Beziehungen zu afrikanischen Gastgesellschaften regeln und verwalten, und es wurde argumentiert, dass ihre Praktiken sowohl etablierte lokale und transnationale Regierungsformen reproduzieren<em> als auch<\/em> transformieren. Durch die Analyse ausgew\u00e4hlter Projektstandorte als \u201eGrenzgebiete\u201c, in denen verschiedene Interessengruppen interagieren, pl\u00e4dierte der Vortrag daf\u00fcr, die vielf\u00e4ltige Entwicklung von Governance-Praktiken im Kontext des \u201eglobalen China\u201c \u00fcber Gegenmodelle hinaus nachzuzeichnen. Auf der Grundlage des E<a href=\"https:\/\/infraglob.eu\/\">RC-INFRAGLOB-Projekts <\/a>und Beitr\u00e4gen von Autoren aus aller Welt wurden die Auswirkungen auf unser Verst\u00e4ndnis von transnationaler Governance in einer zunehmend polyzentrischen Weltordnung er\u00f6rtert.<\/p>\n<p>Jana H\u00f6nke ist Professorin und Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls f\u00fcr Soziologie in Afrika an der Universit\u00e4t Bayreuth. Derzeit leitet sie das ERC-INFRAGLOB-Projekt \u201eAfrica\u2019s Infrastructure Globalities\u201c (Globale Infrastrukturen Afrikas) und das DFG-Projekt \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.african-sociology.uni-bayreuth.de\/en\/research\/Crafting-the-Space-to-Govern\/index.html\">Crafting the space to govern: Non-state practices of legitimation in Africa<\/a>\u201c (Den Raum gestalten, um zu regieren: Nichtstaatliche Legitimierungspraktiken in Afrika) und ist Teil der Forschungsnetzwerke \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/www.african-sociology.uni-bayreuth.de\/en\/research\/Postcolonial-Hierarchies-in-Peace-and-Conflict\/index.html\">Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict<\/a>\u201c (Postkoloniale Hierarchien in Frieden und Konflikt) und \u201e<a href=\"https:\/\/conflicts-meanings-transitions.de\/en\/\">Conflicts.Meanings.Transitions<\/a>.\u201c (Konflikte.Bedeutungen.\u00dcberg\u00e4nge). Ihre Forschung befasst sich damit, wie Governance-Praktiken gemeinsam entwickelt und hinterfragt werden, wie sie sich verbreiten und welche Auswirkungen sie haben. Ihre aktuelle Arbeit untersucht, wie sich politische Geografien durch S\u00fcd-S\u00fcd-Beziehungen ver\u00e4ndern, indem sie die umstrittenen sozialen und sicherheitspolitischen Vereinbarungen rund um multinationale Unternehmen und gro\u00df angelegte Infrastrukturprojekte in Afrika untersucht. W\u00e4hrend sie Feldforschung an verschiedenen Orten, darunter in Europa, China und Brasilien, betreibt, findet ein Gro\u00dfteil ihrer Arbeit in Subsahara-Afrika statt, wo sie in S\u00fcdafrika, der Demokratischen Republik Kongo, Sambia, Tansania, Mosambik und Guinea forscht.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. H\u00f6nke ist au\u00dferdem Gr\u00fcnder des UBT-Forschungsnetzwerks f\u00fcr Frieden und Konflikte, stellvertretender Sprecher der Bayerischen Forschungsallianz Konflikt, Frieden und Sicherheit und Mitglied des Instituts f\u00fcr Friedensforschung und Sicherheitspolitik Hamburg (IFSH).<\/p>\n<p>Sie ist Autorin von \u201eTransnational Business and Security Governance: Hybrid Practices in a Postcolonial World\u201c (2013), \u201eThe Global Making of Policing: Postcolonial Perspectives\u201c (zusammen mit Mueller, 2016) und \u201eAfrica&#8217;s Global Infrastructures: South-South Transformation in Practice\u201c (zusammen mit Cezne, Yang, 2023). Ihre Artikel wurden in f\u00fchrenden Fachzeitschriften wie <em>International Political Sociology<\/em>, <em>Security Dialogu<\/em>e, <em>African Affairs<\/em>, <em>Governance, World Developmen<\/em>t, <em>Global Sociology<\/em> und <em>Environment and Planning D<\/em> ver\u00f6ffentlicht.
